So much to say...
Yeah, I know, it´s been awhile, but life´s pretty hectic lately (in a good way). Big news 1: I´M WELL! Yup, I woke up Wednesday morning feeling much better. OK, so let´s discuss this cold that I had; my body is an interesting thing over here. You see, I had a miserable head cold...on the right side of my face! So my left nostril and left eye were completely normal while my right eye and right nostril were swollen as heck and running like crazy. It was quite a sight to see. Also, I felt the most miserable in the mornings and the best at night. Crazy. Anyhoo, let´s back up to where I left off. Tuesday afternoon. I had class 4-7, we worked on more conversation skills, culture, etc. Honestly, that class is sort of a blur to me because I was so out of it with my ailing body. Blaaaah. Then we had our last dinner in the Becquer which was weird...they served chicken balls. OK, that sounds strange, but they were like meatballs except chicken. Is that normal?? After dinner I just chilled in the room, worked on homework (I had to prepare a brief presentation about a section of an article, oy), started to pack, and hung out with some of the girls. Oh! So Jessica, Stacey, and I decided to start planning a trip to Ireland for St. Patrick´s Day!!! I am so unbearably excited. Flights are extremely cheap, so life is soooo good. We went to bed around 2ish. Woke up the next morning, had my last breakfast in the Becquer (tear), then had a program meeting about homestays...we got our housing assignments. I was pleased with my assignment because they roomed Stacey and me together! Sooo happy about that. We also were living across the river which is very nice, and with 2 Spanish students. Sounded pretty perfect. After the meeting Rachael, Kelly, and I did some shopping which gave me a chance to explore Santa Cruz (the really popular neighborhood, or Barrio in Sevilla) which is very cosmopolitan. I took my first trip to El Corte Inglés which is like a Meijer meets Marshall Fields. But, since Sevilla is a pretty modest city, El Corte Inglés is divided into 3 separate buildings. It´s insanity. We went to one and I bought a hairdryer and a cell phone (finally...yet I don´t really know how to work it), then we went to another so Rachael could buy hot rollers, then we explored some shoe stores and H&M (who know they´d have one?). I swear, sometimes Sevilla feels like a huge Old Orchard Mall, no joke. Then I returned to the Becquer to pack before my Señora picked me up at 1:30. While I packed I watched "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" in German. It´s fun to yell out German answers. Definitely have a newfound love for the Deutch. Hehe. Ok, so that´s it for my time at the Becquer. Next stop: my new home. I was soooooooo nervous!
