First day in Sevilla

So, now I continue.
Arrived at the Hotel Becquer, which is a very nice hotel, at around 6. This gave me the perfect amount of time to take a much-needed shower. It was extremely cathartic. Got dressed just as my roommate, Stacie (who I had met before at the Sevilla get-to-know-you party in Dec.) came in the room. So happy we're rooming together cuz she's super sweet and fun. We get along really well. At 7 we had a meeting with the entire Sevilla program (including Cornell and UPenn). I introduced myself to everyone by offering everyone some of my very large bar of Swiss chocolate. It was a good way to break the ice. The program directors met up with us there at the Becquer and gave a simple introduction; their names are Eva, Luisa, and Pepe. They speak quickly and it's been a challenge to get used to their dialects. We've struggled with understanding them many times, needless to say. Then we went into a huge room and had dinner. It was fun despite the weird food (I'm sorry, but I think my burrito was stuffed with cole slaw), everyone gets along really well, it's an amazing group of people. Oh, so there are 36 of us and I think that maybe 4 or 5 of them are boys. Hehe, it's silly.

After dinner, despite everyone´s exhaustion, we decided to go out. Stacie and I chilled out before going out for awhile as we watched ¨Superstar Deutschland¨ or, German Idol in other words. It was quite entertaining...they sing in English! It´s a trip. I called home, got creepy cat calls from men, got ready, and headed out with a huge group to a quaint sports bar. It was nice and chill, I only had one drink (Malibu con piña in honor of Evan) and headed back to the Becquer around 1. I watched an episode of South Park in German (the German channel became a favorite, surprisingly) and went to bed. I was so exhausted, I literally passed out. I´ve never slept so well and so deeply--Stacie told me that I was talking in my sleep! I mean, full sentences! I don´t think that I´ve ever done that...I was just soooo into the sleeping thing I guess that I just couldn´t help myself...? It had been a long couple of days, but I was so happy to be in Spain finally!
