Hello, procrastination, long time no see

Sunday was very much a Sunday, therefore not too great. Just, well, Sunday. Woke up at 12:30, ate a granola bar, watched some Olympic skiing, took a shower, and then ate lunch with everyone, which, by the way, was delicious. OK, the best part about today was that all of the meals today were amazing. For lunch we had a meat paella (soooooo good!) with a simple green salad with corn, and a yummy orange for dessert. Then I decided to sit down and write my blog about my night in Cadiz. It literally took me forever. I finally finished it, highlighted it to change the font color, accidentally pressed caps lock and then (who knows how) erased the entire post. I flipped out. I clicked "recover post" and it only recovered the first fourth of what I had written. I had not been that angry since coming to Spain. As you know, this blog is quite a lot of work, and it took me awhile to even muster up the motivation to write about the night in Cadiz. Then actually writing about it was a lot of work. And I had erased the meat of it. I had to do something besides looking at that partially blank computer screen, so I just walked out of the room fuming. I needed something, something of substance to distract me and calm me down...food! I took out my cangrejo wrap, reentered the room, ate and thought about what I would do. I reeeeally didn't want to write the post again. It was also already 5:30 and I still had to do some reading and homework. I chilled out for 5 minutes, finished eating, and decided to at least write some of it so it didn't loom over me. I sat down, and as I continued writing it flowed (perhaps because I had written it already). Stacey and I decided that we needed to get out, so we made plans to go to Starbucks to motivate our reading after she took a shower. More of a motivation to finish the blog post. Sigh. The blog was also an excuse to procrastinate, honestly. It's so bad, when I have a lot to do, I'm great at keeping on top of things. But here, I have barely anything to do and a modest amount of hw for only one class. That's bad news cuz I just keep putting it off--I should have been finished with my reading before this weekend. I even brought my book to Cadiz, and didn't crack it once. I finished the post, Stacey was out of the shower and ready to go, and we left for Starbucks around 6. On the way we stopped at OpenCor and I bought a package of strawberries and a Coca-Cola Light for snacks. We got to Starbucks and Stacey got a Coke and an apple tart. We ran into 2 girls from Cornell who were doing the same thing as us. We then sat and read for a good 2 hours. I finally finished the book (kind of creepy, crazy, sad) and Stacey got closer to the end. We left around 9, stopped at OpenCor again so we could buy some more fruit n fiber (I'm addicted to that stuff now). We got back in time for dinner, which was one of the best meals that we've had here. It was the same dish that we ate back when her grandchildren came over, which is honestly one of my favorite dishes that she has prepared! It's a potato, tomato, green bean, pea, chorizo thing with a fried egg on top. It's so delicious. And she even made one serving without chorizo for Stacey since she doesn't like the chorizo (how considerate!). We also had a simple salad of just lettuce, oil, and vinegar, and a tangerine for dessert. Oh man, I was more than satisfied. Like I've said, it was a goooood meal day. After dinner I planned on writing the one-page reaction paper due tomorrow, but of course here I am online for the past 2.5 hours emailing/facebooking/IMing/blogging. I'm terrible. I mean, this assignment will only take me a half hour at the most, but I'm just that good at procrastinating. I guess I'm also being a slacker about it because I'm pretty sure that I'll drop the lit. class. Speaking of class, I start all of my classes tomorrow! Tomorrow I will officially be a student at the University of Sevilla! Wow, let the study abroad begin. So, basically, this is kind of my last night of Winter Break. Can ya believe it? Well, I'm excited and nervous for tomorrow. Wish me buena suerte (good luck)!!
