Reverting to my old ways is strange

I went to sleep so early Saturday night that I woke early Sunday morning, woohoo! Stacey and I both got up at 10am, and since the sun was out we decided to go to the park and do homework. It was so nice out and I looooove Parque de los príncipes. We were there for about 2 hours, I finished about 2/3 of "300 millones", and then we headed out. Stacey had to walk to Plaza de Armas to buy a bus ticket to Madrid (her flight to Paris goes out of Madrid) so I walked to Vips, bought a turkey wrap (I was staaaarving), then walked home where I did a whole lot of blogging and webshots updating. Then lunch was served a bit early since it was a Lisa/Maruja romantic lunch once again. I am really enjoying having meals just the two of us; it´s less overwhelming, and more food for us. Hehe. We had that rice-garlic-egg-clam dish that we had had weeks earlier that is SO good. The sauce is amaaaazing. AND Maruja bought this new bread that soaks up the sauce really well at the end. On the side we had a simple green salad with fresh cut tomatoes which was exciting because tomatoes are really coming in season so they´re beet red and sweet. Mmm. For dessert we had fresh cut strawberries which was also delicious since they´re in season right now. Looooooove it. Satisfied, I retreated to the room, finished up my webshots and blogs, grabbed Stacey´s backpack and computer, my homework, and walked to Starbucks. Stacey said that she would be at Starbucks and asked if I´d bring her laptop for her when I showed up so that she could type a paper. I met up with her at around 4:15 and got down to work. I had checked out the art history book written by my iconografía professor, so I decided to start studying art history since I don´t really know what´s going on, and my tutor suggested I do that. I read the first chapter which was about ancient Egyptian art. It´s a very short, yet well written and clear textbook, I really enjoy it! Except, ya know, it´s in Spanish so it took me extra long to read...I mean, I studied that thing. Honestly. I felt like I was back in Ann Arbor studying for finals because I was reading so intently and taking such thorough notes. I was on a roll. Mayhaps it was all the caffeine I consumed. While we were studying and reading there was a group of professional-looking adults chatting really loudly and such. They left, and soon I snapped out of my studying daze as I finished the chapter. It took me about 2 hours, and I felt drained. You know that post-cram-study feeling? Yeah, I had that. Although it had only been 2 hours, it has been awhile since I´ve studied that hard. I felt so strange. I literally started zoning out. During this time Katie stopped by as she was making a Vips Coca-Cola Light stop, so I had a dazed convo with her and Stacey. It was strange. Soon she was off to finish her whirlwind day of studying. Suddenly, a group of three men from the group of professional adults that had been chatting before walked back into Starbucks and approached me. One was a producer, one a director, the other I can´t remember. They handed me this card with a picture of some new singer on it. They said that they were producing/directing a music video in the next couple of months for this guy on the card and they wanted to screentest for it. Trust me, this was legite. They gave me all of this information and I gave them my email and they said that they´d send me all of the details when available and that I could contact them with any questions. I could be in a Spanish music video, whoooooa! They also said that they plan on eventually marketing it in the U.S. Craziness. Could you even imagine? So that was exciting. It was also ironic because right before they walked in I was thinking about how I need to involve myself in something that forces me to speak more Spanish such as an extra-curricular or voluntering. Huh. Well, I call that fate. I´m excited, let´s hope it happens. At around 8 Stacey and I had had it with Starbucks and walked home. I had had it with studying so I did some online things, planned out my family´s trip itinerary for June, did some post-graduation research, blogged, skyped with Daddy, etc. Then Maruja and I ate dinner just the 2 of us again (Stacey didn´t think she´d be home for dinner so she had told Maruja earlier that she wouldn´t eat at home) so we had sauteed spinach (just like her espinacas con garbanzos, minus the garbanzos) and shellfish croquetas. I told Maruja that I love the espinacas (con garbanzos) and that I want to make them back home in the States. She told me the recipe: spinach, garbanzos, olive oil, a touch of vinager, cumin, paprika, and fresh garlic. She said that she´d write it out for me. Then I told her that I also want to make the veggie hash/chorizo dish that she has only made a few times that I love so much and she said that she´d write that one out, too. Then she said that it´s one of María del Mar´s favorites, too, so she´d make it for us on Tuesday when she comes back (she went home for an extended weekend). Yay!! For dessert we had batido de fresas (yuuuummy). We ate dinner in only ten minutes--the only downfall of eating with just Maruja is that I have to speed up my eating to keep up with her. It´s insanity. After dinner I went back to the room, skyped with Daddy some more, did some more online stuff, then got ready for bed but didn´t fall asleep until 2. That´s what happens when you get too much sleep the night before. It was an interesting day: I studied more than I have since coming here which made me feel like I was reverting back to my old ways. Studying again is crazy, although it kind of feels good and makes me feel like I´m actually learning something here. I really am learning, it´s amazing! I mean, I´m learning things that I´d learn in English, except in a whole other language. I mean, I read a textbook in Spanish as if it wasn´t even in Spanish! I call that a study abroad milestone.
