And it feels like hooooome
Woke up around 10:45 with my sore throat almost completely gone. Hurrah! I was feeling lazy, so I made some pb toast and joine Maria del Mar in the living room to watch TV. Watched some "Recess" and "Simpsons". I had a pretty nasty cought, though. Woooot. Then I came back to the room and did some computer stuff and some exercises. Double wooooot. Then we had lunch at 2:30 which was good, but extremely filling. It was spaghetti with meat sauce (homemade, the meat was spiced well and cooked perfectly) and a green salad, then an orange for dessert. After dinner I was feeling gross after all of those carbs (I really don't eat too much bread here) so I decided to take a walk. It was gorgeous out! I played my iPod and took in the lazy Spanish Sunday. I walked for about a half an hour until finding a nice place to sit by the river and read. There were so many people out by the river, drawn there by the beautiful weather. It was so nice, so much like a community! It felt so nice and it really made Sevilla feel more like home. Once I become more autonomous in a place it begins to feel more comfortable. Sevilla is definitely starting to feel very comfortable. Like, when I go on trips, it's so exciting to return to the comforts of Sevilla. Sigh. After reading Harry Potter 2 (I'm halfway done, Evan!) for a good couple hours, I decided to walk back...but take the long way. I decided to walk through Triana, a really nice, old barrio adjacent to Remedios (it's on the same side of the river), which I hadn't really explored much. It was so nice and peaceful, just me, my iPod, and the quiet streets of Triana. Loved it. I walked around with the intention of getting lost, but I ironically found my way back to Remedios very easily. I stopped at McDonald's and picked up an apple and walked home. I had been gone for a little over 3 hours, it was a nice Sunday outing. I got back to find Stacey napping. She awoke and we hung out/internetted. She just got a microphone so if anybody wants to download Skype we can talk for free online! Wooooohooo! Then we had dinner at around 9:20 which kind of sucked. Grilled ham n cheese sandwiches (ugh, white bread...no more simple carbs, Maruja!) and boiled cauliflower in olive oil. However it was filling. The news was talking about the Oscars and we told Maria del Mar that we planned on watching them that night even though they wouldn't be on until 2am. She then told us that since we don't have cable it'd be highly unlikely that they'd play international live TV in the middle of the night. Goddammit! I'm really very upset about this. However, Stacey and I had hope and had plans to make an evening out of it. So we walke to VIPS (I needed to walk off that sandwich, anyways) to buy microwaveable popcorn. Then we walked back and Stacey did hw while I messed around online. It's funny, I was such a bum this weekend and didn't do much, but it's primarily because of being sick. Nevertheless, being lazy and hanging around the house also made this place feel more like home. It's comfortable. I love it. Then, around 1am I headed into the living room praying that some pre-show would be on. No luck. Then I checked 2 for the show. No luck again. Ugh. I really, really wanted to watch the Oscars. How disappointing. It's gonna suck reading about everything tomorrow...it just doesn't beat watching them live. Oh, by the way, found out that another overdraft slip was sent home. I'm starting to remember certain purchases besides the hostel and flight that could have put me over, such as my 140 euro digital camera, or 20 euro on recharging the minutes on my cell every month. However, it doesn't seem to completely add up. I'm beginning to worry if there may be some foul play in there somewhere. I know 2 people who suffered that here. OY fucking VEY. OK, goodnight.
